Scott Jensen wrote a wonderful, easy to read, book “We’ve Been Played”. In it he focuses on what he calls the “Triad of Tyranny”: Big Pharma, Big Tech, and Big Government.
Scott was well aware of the problems creeping up on us. As an MD he specifically saw the growing problems in the healthcare industry which have disconnected doctors and patients. Consider reading his previous book: “Relationship Matters” (2015). Clearly Scott has enjoyed being a doctor and helping his patients. He conveys irritation and frustration that the system is destroying this doctor-patient relationship.
This has been apparent to me too, particularly when pointed out by my father that “doctors now are not practicing the same kind of medicine my father did”. Yes, the form of medical practice my grandfather (Thomas Wright) and his grandfather (Philander Bracket Wright – a civil war hero) practiced was not the same as what MD’s (pill prescribers) practice now.
Dr. Jensen has a very humble and practical approach where he frequently admits that he isn’t always going to get it “right”. He very much understands human imperfection. This is a very challenging approach as an MD where patients look up to you as if you are “God” and can tell them exactly what to do.
This passage resonates with me: “The following information may have been helpful for her, but I worried it would simply overwhelm an already fragile patient who wanted to take the easy way out by having me decide for her.” In my opinion, one of the major flaws of Industrial Medicine is actually the patients! People look to doctors to tell them which magic pill to take to cure their ills. Health doesn’t work like that! It doesn’t work like that in the world of nutritional medicine either. We can’t recommend just one single nutrient and expect it to cure the ills of our clients.
Scott mentions the media’s role in supporting the narrative, but in my opinion he doesn’t emphasize this enough. Censorship is a major problem that Scott is well aware of, however, in my opinion, he doesn’t give the media’s role in pushing the narrative enough mention in his book.
Scott is extremely accurate when he says what is going on is F.EA.R. - False Evidence Appearing Real.
This book deserves a high recommendation. Certainly I encourage everyone to read it. The text flows easily as it is very readable – large easy to read print, with a writing style that flows without technical jargon. Great graphics are included, thus the readable number of pages is much lower than the actual number of pages. There are no “conspiracy theories” just simple observations of what has developed over the years.
