Just a few nights ago someone at the rental property behind us (there are several cabins that are being rented out via AirB&B) was shooting a shotgun at 10pm. Normally, gun shots don't bother me. I live in the county so I myself can fire my gun IF I want and not be in jeopardy of being arrested. BUT, there is a 10pm sound ordinance here. The only exceptions are for holidays like the 4th of July and New Years.

I totally understand the cutoff time for that sort of thing and I, being a law abiding citizens and responsible gun owner follow those rules. I know that I was dozing off the other night when the first of those blasts made me nearly jump out of my skin. I jumped up and grabbed MY shotgun thinking something bad was happening outside or at my neighbor's. I also know that we have a veteran in the neighborhood who suffers from PTSD. He wears noise canceling headphones on the 4th of July and at New Years to deal with the fireworks. But he can't prepare himself for random gunshots in the night. Especially when it's past the cutoff time.

There are people who rant about those who have "white privilege." I got news for them, we live in a time where EVERYONE has an entitlement complex. People think they can do as they damn well please and there's nothing you can do to stop them because they have a "right"... to be an ASS.

SADLY, a lot of people don't understand that THEIR rights end at the tip of MY nose. They don't understand that they do NOT have a right to infringe upon MY right to live without THEIR crap (literally in your case) interfering with MY peace.

Ok..MY rant is over. I think mine is amplified by the fact that I had a treatment for diabetic retinopathy today. This treatment involves an injection IN MY EYE. And now my eye actually hurts (the numbing drops have worn off) and is watering to an extreme. Please, say a prayer for me tonight that this will pass SOON and that it won't keep me from being able to sleep tonight.

So true

The folks who are respectful don't get noticed because THEY ARE RESPECTFUL and quietly go about their lives.
