I am an American I am NOT a member of the democrat&republican PARTY.

The democrat&republican PARTY is unconstitutional.

The dumbest people in this country are democrat&republican "Useful Voters."

$38 TRILLION DOLLARS in debt proves it, and if you ask a democrat&republican "Useful Voter" if they will still vote for the democrat&republican PARTY when the national debt is $100 TRILLION DOLLARS they will say "Yes!" that's just how stu-to-the-pid they are.

Until now I had never viewed the concept of democracy as a negative. Very insightful John!

I view democracy as a negative. Certainly the people (vs the tyrants) having power is a good thing, but pure democracy (majority rules without constraints) is definitely bad.

In a democracy there always has to be restraints (at least the "Ten Commandments")!

In a "pure" democracy, the majority becomes the tyrant.

The word in and of itself isn’t a negative in my thinking. The lack there of is the negative.

In the sense that we think of "democracy" as everyone is free to have a "say" it's great. But when it comes to "majority rule" it's tyranny! Extremely undesirable.

Lynch mobs are democracy. But I think we'd all agree that lynch mobs are undesirable (even if in the heat of emotion they make sense).

Thus the need for checks and balances.

More than just checks and balances. A fundamental understanding of "rights". Governments (all forms) greatest weakness is the tendency to tell people what they can do and what they can't do.

It never stops amazing me at how, now in my elderly years, I’m re-evaluating even very basic things that I never gave a second thought to.
