We have a couple basic barriers to a better life.
Ego – our ego drives us to want to be seen by others as competent.
Blind spot – we see the world from our own point of view.
Getting past these barriers can help you make better decisions in life.
How can you lower these barriers? Be exceptionally open minded. Let your motivation for improvement be stronger than your ego. Let your motivation for improvement empower you to seriously consider situations from the viewpoints of other people.
Be honest with your assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of yourself and others.
People are different. Not better, not worse, different. Use those differences to your advantage.
Try these steps:
Go after what you want
Fail (sometimes)
Reflect on why you failed
Change and evolve
Get the most out of life, don’t let your own barriers get in your way.
“I can’t”, “I won’t” – these are the two most common mindsets that get in our way. Stop saying “I can’t” and start saying “How could I?”. Stop saying “I won’t” and ask yourself “Why not?”.
